Wow.. it has been a busy year! I am super behind at posting some of the B’nai Mitvah’s I have photographed this year. I love shooting B’nai Mitzvah’s. They are so much fun. I was raised Jewish and know all about the traditions having gone through Sunday school myself. I also had my Bat Mitzvah but waited until I was 18 and did mine when I was in Israel. For me, it felt like the right time and the right reason’s when I was there. I worked hard to learn Torah and Hebrew. Now.. working in the synagogues is second nature. I am very comfortable photographing there. I know all about the different nuances that each synagogue has as well as the distinctive qualities of each Rabbi and the rules each one has for his/her synagogue.
I will begin with Sari’s Bat Mitzvah which was held at Herzl-Ner Tamid Synagogue on Mercer Island. The reception was held at the Bellevue Westin. The reception was coordinated by Stephanie Solomon of Solomon Event Planning. Music was done by Kevin Howard of A Sound’s Unlimited. Amazing henna was done by Krysteen of Mehndi Madness. Thank you to Melanie Blair who was my second photographer for the reception.
