I’m Atlanta photographer Dani Weiss, and I remember my own Bat Mitzvah.

 

During my preparations for that coming-of-age ceremony, I developed a deeper understanding and appreciation for my family’s Jewish heritage.

 

I was fortunate to be able to complete the ritual in Israel, very aware of the effort and investment that went into this special day.
