I have been living in Rainier Valley for more than 17 years. I love it down here. When I moved from New York City to  Bainbridge Island in 1989 for a newspaper job I was shocked at the lack of diversity. Once I moved over to the Seattle side in 1991, I had a 2 year stint on Capitol Hill and then moved to the South End.
