Valentines day got a little sweeter this year. David and Michael were finally able to get married legally. They have been together for more than 32 years. They have adopted 3 children who are now adults in their 20’s. They are active members of our community, David is the Cantor at Temple B’nai Torah in Bellevue and both have been more than outspoken about the right to marry. David mentioned it has to be small (there were only 12 people in attendance including me) or we would have 1200 people at our wedding. Their Jewish wedding ceremony was performed by Justice Bobbi Bridge at Dahlia Lounge. After the ceremony guests were treated to a delicious lunch followed but a simple cake made by Tom Douglas Bakery. After so many years of trying to marry legally, their time had finally come. I was honored to document this event for them.
