I met Molly back in the late 90’s. She was an admirer of my work and we got to know each other while I was shooting freelance photography for the Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle, where she worked. After overcoming the horrible shooting at the Federation she is now tackling a new battle. Molly was diagnosed with throat cancer a couple of months ago and since she knew that she was going to be losing her hair, she decided to take things into her own hands. Molly asked if I would come to photograph her head shaving party. Of course, I said absolutely! Here are some photos from the big event.
MollyThank you so much for the beautiful photos, Dani! They were absolutely perfect and just what I wanted. You captured the spirit of the day so well, and I will look back on these photos as an example of how I took matters into my own hands and ran into the Big Scary (losing my hair, getting cancer) on my terms. Thanks for the photos hat represent my refusal to just let life happen TO me. 🙂
