Every year thousands turn out for the annual East Atlanta Strut. Factoring in social distancing, Michelle Rice and her crew managed to develop a plan and it worked. Routes were formed that allowed the parade to wind down side streets, performers were on the back of flatbed trucks, a car parade took place featuring local politicians and drag queens a like. The Krewe of Optical Delusions made their way around the streets. The llama poop bingo happened behind Metropolitan Studios while hosting several llamas and baby goats to visit with. Let’s not forget the Leaf Blower Madness contest. Neighbors hosted artists and aerialists in their driveways, one neighbor on Blake Ave had their own hot pepper eating contest, another a paper airplane throwing contest and people wandered the neighborhoods with kids and dogs in tow. I even saw a dog in a baby bjorn. Too cute. It was an incredible turn out. Everyone I saw who wasn’t eating was wearing a mask. While it wasn’t like the other years, it was a huge success!
